The Greek L'Oréal-UNESCO Programme for Women in Science is implemented in collaboration with L'Oréal Hellas and the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO. Greece is one of 118 countries that carry out similar programmes at national level.
The L'Oréal-UNESCO Greek Awards are granted in collaboration with L'Oréal Hellas and the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO, with the aim of promoting, enhancing and supporting the achievements of women active in research in the field of Life Sciences or Natural Sciences in Greece. The prizes have a value of 10.000 Euro each.
The Greek Awards were established in 2006 and continue to this day to recognise women who excel in scientific research. Since 2006, L'Oréal Hellas and the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO have recognised and awarded 35 outstanding Women in Science. The awards encourage young Greek women scientists to continue their research in their home country.
