The L’Oréal – UNESCO For Women in Science National Program was launched in Vietnam in 2009. Over the past 17 years, the program has honored 41 talented young Vietnamese female scientists for their outstanding contributions in two research fields: Life Sciences and Material Sciences. This initiative has enabled them to continue pursuing their passion for science and advance further in their scientific careers, contributing to bridging the gender gap in science.

The national scholarships are awarded to female PhD candidates whose research projects in Life Sciences and Material Sciences are contemporary, innovative, and highly applicable.

The Jury Board will convene to select three candidates from the shortlist based on criteria such as modernity, creativity, and applicability of the proposal, effective solutions for global issues, significant contributions to the foundation of future scientific research, clarity and comprehensibility of scientific language, systematic presentation, and each candidate’s scientific achievements.
