2026 L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Indonesia Program: Call for Applications
L’Oréal reaffirms its commitment to advancing women’s contributions to science through the L’Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science (FWIS) program in Indonesia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. For over 22 years, the program has consistently recognized and supported Indonesian women scientists who are making significant contributions to the nation’s scientific and social progress.
Applications for this year will open on June 1st, 2026, with a submission deadline of September 6th, 2026. The program will grant research funding awards to four (4) young women researchers who either hold a PhD or are currently pursuing doctoral studies in the fields of Life Sciences and Non-Life Sciences (including Physical Sciences, Material Science, Engineering, IT, Mathematics, etc.)

Program Overview
Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemendiktisaintek)
The program will recognize four winners in total, with two awards dedicated to the Life Sciences and two to the Non-Life Sciences
A research grant of Rp100,000,000 (one hundred million Indonesian rupiah) will be awarded to each winner
Main eligibility criteria
- The program is open to Indonesian women researchers (Indonesian citizens).
- Candidates must either hold a Doctoral degree (PhD) or be currently enrolled in a doctoral study program (PhD).
- Candidates must be no older than 45 years of age. Applicants born before January 1, 1981, will not be considered under this program.
- Research proposals must be within the fields of Life Sciences & Non-Life Sciences (e.g., material sciences, earth sciences, engineering, computer science, mathematics, chemistry, physics, etc.).
- All application forms, research proposals, and supporting documents must be uploaded via the official website www.forwomeninscience.com no later than September 6, 2026

A. Research Project Proposal (Maximum 5 pages)
- Research Proposal: Background, Problem Statement and Research Methodology
- Expected results: Elaboration of the proposed research outcomes.
- Estimated Budget: A breakdown of funding requirements for the research period of 6 to 12 months.
B. Supporting documents
- Letters of recommendation from research supervisors (min. 2 people)
- Copy of official transcripts from postgraduate studies or proof of having obtained a PhD degree
- Letter of approval from the host institution/organization where the research will be conducted using its facilities (required unless the research is conducted in private space
- Resume (max 1 page)
