The L'Oréal Romania For Women In Science Endowments program was launched in 2009 and is run in partnership with the Romanian National Commission for UNESCO.
For the combined edition 2024-2025, 10 awards of 50,000 RON each are offered to support outstanding doctoral and postdoctoral female researchers under the age of 40, in the areas of Life Sciences, Phisical Sciences, and Computer Science.
The endowments are meant to support the winners in their research work conducted in Romania.

Program Overview
Romania's National Commission for UNESCO
The Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI).
4 endowments of 50,000 RON each, offered to female researchers in the areas of Life Sciences.
4 endowments of 50,000 RON each, offered to female researchers in the areas of Physical Sciences.
2 endowment of 50,000 RON offered to a female researcher in the area of Computer Science.
Main eligibility criteria
For PHD participants:
- Must be no older than 40 years old by the start date of the program: 07.07.2025
- Must be enrolled in a doctoral school, research institute, or laboratory in Romania, and is undergoing her research on Romanian territory, in one of the domains listed in Annex 1 of the program's participation guidelines document
- Minimum second PHD year
- Must have no criminal record and is not currently undergoing criminal investigation
For post-PHD participants:
- Must be no older than 40 years old by the start date of the program: 07.07.2025
- Must have obtained the scientific title of "Doctor" in one of the scientific domains mentioned in Annex 1 of the program's participation guidelines document, and is part of a post-academic preparatory program within a research and development institution certified by the Romanian Government.
- OR has obtained the scientific title of "Doctor" in one of the scientific domains mentioned in Annex 1 of the program's participation guidelines document, and is undergoing her research on Romanian territory, in one of the aforementioned domains.
- Must have started her post-doctoral research before the start date of the program's call for applications, 07.07.2025
- Must have no criminal record and is not currently undergoing criminal investigation
Candidates who have already obtained a bursary during previous editions of the program are automatically ineligible to participate.
