L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program was launched in Hungary in 2003. The aim is to motivate young women scientists and researchers to achieve prominent and practical scientific results, as well as to motivate and promote the position of Hungarian women in the field of science. The program is running in cooperation with the Hungarian National Commission for UNESCO, and supported by the Academy of Sciences (MTA). The requirements of application for the L'ORÉAL-UNESCO Hungarian Scholarship Program are the following: Women of Hungarian citizenship working as scientific researchers in the Republic of Hungary at any state of higher education, their research facilities, or an MTA research facility in any of the following scientific fields -natural sciences, life sciences or materials sciences- are eligible to apply. Applications can be submitted in two categories: women under 35 years of age and women under 45 years of age. The laureates will be selected by a scientific and technical jury. In 2021 the award, 4.000.000 HUF will be split among 2 scientists, 1 in each age category. The scholarship can be used by scientists freely.
