Ethics

Our Code of Business Conduct is the reference document for ethics within L’ORÉAL and helps employees implement THE L’ORÉAL SPIRIT in their day-to day activity. The Code of Business Ethics applies to all employees of the L’ORÉAL Group and its subsidiaries worldwide. It also concerns all Officers and Directors of the L’ORÉAL Group and its subsidiaries. Each employee receives a personal copy.

The Code of Business Ethics was first issued in 2000. In 2007, the Code was updated with the help of employees from 22 countries via international working groups in Asia, Europe, North America and Latin America. The Code was then validated by each Country Manager, Human Resources Manager and local counsel to make sure it was applicable locally. To underline the importance of this document, L’ORÉAL’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer signed the foreword, and the introduction is signed by the entire Executive Committee.

The Code of Business Ethics is regularly reviewed in order to improve it, if necessary. Employees are encouraged to give their feedback on the Code.

Country Managers are responsible for ensuring that the Code of Business Ethics is respected at local level.
